1. Creating a PrintNode Account
The first step is to request the account credentials from Mr. Kritsotakis. Each hotel has its own account. The credentials for all accounts can be found at the end of the document (ensure they are securely stored).
2. Removing a Previous PrintNode Installation
Once you have remote access to the computer via AnyDesk, remove any previous installation of PrintNode.
- a) Open the Control Panel.
- b) During the uninstallation process, when prompted to delete all settings, select YES.
3. Installing the Latest Version of PrintNode
Download and install the latest version of PrintNode from the official website: PrintNode Download. During the installation, check the option to create a desktop shortcut.
4. Selecting the Printer
Before proceeding, make sure to identify which printer will be used. Open Windows Settings and navigate to the Printers section. Select the printer and click Manage to view its settings. This will be useful later to verify the connection.
5. PrintNode Setup
Open PrintNode (it will be hidden in the taskbar from the installation process). Go to the Printers tab and uncheck all printers except the one you want to use.
6. Verifying Device Connection via the PrintNode API
Log in to the PrintNode platform: PrintNode Login. Go to the Devices tab and check that the hotel’s computer is connected to only one printer, which should be the one you selected. Important: Send Mr. Kritsotakis the computer name and printer name as they appear in the PrintNode dashboard.
7. Performing a Test Print
While waiting for Mr. Kritsotakis to complete the API setup, you can perform a test print:
- a) In the Print Something tab, select the source: PrintNode Test Page.
- b) Choose the printer you want to test.
- c) For the Test File, select: ups_label.pdf.
- d) Click PRINT.
If everything works correctly, the Print History will show the print job as DONE.
Contact the hotel representative to confirm that the test print was successfully completed. If no one is available to verify, you can check the Printing Status in the printer window (in Windows settings, as mentioned in step 4).
8. Final Check
After Mr. Kritsotakis performs a print job via the API and you confirm that the printer is functioning correctly:
- Open the Task Manager.
- Go to the Startup tab and check that PrintNode has the status Enabled.
- This ensures that PrintNode will automatically start if the computer restarts.
After this step, you can log out of AnyDesk.
